How to sync files/make backups with DSynchronize

With the arrival of Dropbox, Skyfire, Box, SugarSync… Having all the job information is no longer a problem, since we can access it from wherever we want to consult it and even modify the documents.
But before the cloud, It was an ordeal to carry the pendrive with just the right information. (Pendrives were not as large in capacity as they currently are). If you needed something, you probably didn't copy it because you didn't think you would need it or because you didn't have enough free space.
The other problem I ran into was How could I know if the files on the pendrive were up to date?. The solution was to copy everything again, which meant wasting even more time. There was no other solution than to find an application that would allow me to sync files automatically. In this way, only the documents that had been modified would be copied either on the hard drive or on the pendrive. Bidirectional synchronization was very important since if the file on the pendrive was modified, it had to be updated on the work computer (like clouds work).
After searching and trying many applications, I found the perfect app. Furthermore, it was free and was not installed on the computer. What more could I ask for?
I'm talking about Dsynchronize. The Dimio website is one of the shabbiest and oldest that you can find on the internet. At home they appear all the awards he has received for the different applications he has created. But leaving this aspect aside, all the applications that this person creates are completely free, also called freeware. If you liked the application you can make a donation via Paypal.
You can download the application at the following link: DSynchronize v2.30.2. For change the language to spanish you have to download the following archive. Within this last file it tells us how to change the language of the application.
As I mentioned before, this application does not require installation, We just have to run it and the main screen will appear.

How to use DSynchronize

  • In the first window on the left, Origin, we must indicate the directory we want to copy. Once specified, we must go to the right window, Destination, and specify the destination drive and directory. We can add all the directories we want without limit. It is best to select the directory from the root, so we will not have to specify directory by directory. Every time we are going to make a copy, we must select the desired directories, it does not have to be all of them.

  • Now we are going to establish the General Sync/Copy Options. From this application we can specify if we want to copy only the files that have been updated, synchronize in both directions (very useful in the case of using a pendrive), create a directory with the date on which the synchronization / copy will be created, create the folders in the destination directory if they were not created, preview mode through which the application will inform us of the files that are going to be copied, created, overwritten or deleted. The rest of the available options are to tell the program what we want to do when the sync/copy finishes.

  • To the right of the General Options, we will find Special Options, Backup and Scheduled Synchronization. The first two options, according to Dimio, were designed for old systems, not current ones. Within Scheduled Sync we can specify if we want to specify the start time of the copy/synchronization, we can also configure the application so that as soon as we run it it starts performing the copy/synchronization. Unless the computer is constantly running and you need to make copies continuously, otherwise we will not use it.

  • Below all the configuration options there are three windows where Deleted, added and replaced files are displayed during synchronization.
