On many occasions, at Vinagre Asesino we write tutorials about Apple devices such as iPhones or iPads and along with the tutorial we include photographs so that you do not get lost while following the tutorial. These images are somewhat peculiar because they come as if it were an iPad (for example) with its frame and everything. Today, I am going to explain how to do it through an application that you will find for free in the App Store. This application offers a trial period so, if you like what it does, you can buy the full version (in-app-purchase) and get these images whenever you want without any limits.

Screenshot – Frame Maker: inserting the iDevice frame into the screenshot

As I said, today I'm going to teach you how to place the frame of an iOS device around its screenshot. That is, imagine that I have a series of applications on the screen and I want to take a screenshot of them to remember their position; I do it and once the capture is done, I want it to look good, so I want to add the frame of my iPad to upload it to Vinagre Asesino; i.e. I want it to look like there is an iPad on the screen. Thanks to Screenshot – Frame Maker, an App Store app, We can do it without any problem.

  • The first thing we have to do is enter the App Store from our iDevice and look for the application that will make the capture frame: «Screenshot – Frame Maker«. It's free so you can try it out before purchasing the full version.

  • Next, enter the application that you just downloaded and you will find the screen that you have just above this line. The application tells you how to take a screenshot on your iDevice (We remember that they are only for screenshots, photographs are of no use.). If you still don't know how to take a screenshot: press the power button and the Home button on your device at the same time to capture the screen you are seeing at that precise moment.

  • Before continuing with the tutorial we will have to configure some things in the application by going to the gear at the top left of the application. Some aspects that you can change:
    • Maximum Width/Height: Here you will enter the maximum number of pixels that your photograph can have.
    • Full size: If you activate this tab, Screenshot (the app) will create the largest screenshot possible.
    • Prefer Withe Frame: If we activate this tab, whenever we take a screenshot, the device frame will be white (you can change it later in the image if you want it to be black).

  • Once our application is configured, it is time to start with the device frames. The first thing we have to do is press the "+" located at the top right of the screen and select the captures one by one. They must be screenshots, that is, we cannot put an image taken from Google Images (for example).

  • The screenshots will be placed in the central part of the screen where we will see the device with the frame on. It is clear that we will never want to always have (in my case) a White iPad Mini, therefore we can change it. Click on the thumbnail and the menu above these lines will be displayed where you can choose what type of device you want. I'm going to choose a black iPad Mini.

  • Once the choice of frames and their colors is finished It's time to share it with our friends by clicking the share button and selecting the method that we like best.

If we want to take infinite screenshots we need to pay 0,89 euros from the application itself. Does it convince you?
