When we are trying to find a certain number of applications that help us optimize images with a specific format, the main idea is to try to ensure that they do not lose the quality they have; This important factor is highly sought after by those who usually host these images on different websites, with the sole objective that the pages are displayed more quickly than conventional.
If we talk about a jpeg or png format we would be referring to images that by default already have considerably less weight compared to bmp, targa or tiff, this being the main reason why many people use them on their respective web pages as we have suggested previously. Now, if we are going to have to use about 100 images, it would be a completely tedious, boring and overwhelming job to process each of them independently. It is for this reason that we will now advise the use and a few tricks, to be able to optimize images with these formats and with the help of a third-party application.
Optimize images with Voralent Antelope on Windows
Voralent Antelope is an application which unfortunately only works on Windows, although we should also mention that advantageously you can use it completely free. You have to download it from the developer's official website and then (logically) install it on this operating system. Once you run it you will find a very attractive interface with dark gray tones. There are not many elements within this interface, although the few that are present are more than enough for us to reach optimize these images in the formats suggested above.
The image that we have placed at the top is a small example of what we have mentioned, that is, the Voralent Antelope interface. Now, to import all the images that you want to process in batch you can:
- Make use of the app's native feature (import images).
- Select, drag and drop them within this interface.

This last alternative can be executed in different ways, that is, selecting only the images that you want to process and optimize with the help of the Shift and Ctrl keys once you have found them or also, select an entire directory with the material to work with. It doesn't matter if there are images in jpeg format mixed with other png images, because Voralent Antelope identifies them all equally.
Configure Voralent Antelope for better image optimization
If we have already imported all those images that we are going to work with in Voralent Antelope for their respective optimization, we would only have to select the small arrow shaped like a playback icon that is located towards the upper left side, which will start the whole process. While it lasts, with each processed image it will show the reduced size among a few other additional data.
The most interesting part of all is in the Voralent Antelope configuration, because there we will have the possibility of manipulate a few additional parameters when using jpeg and png images.
- In the first case, within the settings to optimize the jpeg images we can reduce the size to the maximum if we activate the function that says "Lossy Mode", there is another additional function that will help us eliminate (remove) the Exif information that images in said format generally have.
- Within this same configuration we will have the possibility of manipulating png images, defining the degree of optimization that we wish to have. If any of these png images have transparency, then you must activate the respective box in this area.
You must be careful with a very important aspect when starting the processing of these images; despite there being a box where it should be generate a copy of the original file, A certain number of users have found a problem in this regard, since said copy is not made and therefore, the original image is lost to make way for the one that has been processed.
