On multiple occasions we have talked about different ways to be able to make a backup copy of our operating system, coming with said information, the different alternatives that exist to be able to recover it and thus not lose absolutely any of our work on the Windows personal computer.
Many people do not know it perfectly well, but Windows 7 and later versions from Microsoft They began to adopt a more efficient measure when it came to protecting the information on the personal computer. We are specifically referring to the «System Image«, which must be done by adopting small tricks so that the recovery does not fail when we need it.

Why make a backup with System Image?

For our part, we could recommend a tactic that every user should adopt, since this way they will be able to recover only the Windows operating system on their personal computer. when it is found, functional and clean. If you have decided to format the hard drive and reinstall the operating system, we recommend that you also install all the applications that you will work with in the future. Try not to ignore any of them so that everything works perfectly well.
When you already have all the applications installed (and logically, the drivers perfectly configured), you have used the backup copy through the «System Image» using the method that we will mention below.
First of all you must go to the "Control Panel" and then to the security area, where you will find a link that says "Make a Computer Backup«.

At that moment a new window will appear, and you should pay special attention to the options displayed on the left side. The first of them (Create a System Image) is the one we will use for the moment. When you select it, a new window will immediately open with different options to choose from:

  2. On one or more DVDs.
  3. At a network location.

The ideal is to try to use a backup copy (under this modality) on an external hard drive and at the same time, have it well stored for when we need it. You could also use an internal disk as long as it is secondary; If you do not have any of the two options that we have mentioned and instead, If you have a large partition, You can use it although you will receive a warning notification stating that this alternative may be unstable if the entire hard drive suffers some type of problem in its operation.
Whatever option you choose (on our part we will always recommend the first one), when you select the "Next" button a window will appear where you will be informed about what is going to be backed up in this "System Image". You should mainly choose the system hard drive, since it is complete and has all the applications that we recommend installing initially for your work.

When you have finished the entire process you have to return to the first screen where we were at the beginning; Right there and to the left side there is another additional option (the second), which will help you create an operating system recovery disk. You have to carry out this task, requiring a CD-ROM disk because there will be saved a few files that will help you start the computer with different options and among which will be the one that will help you recover absolutely everything with the "System Image" that we create under this modality.
Everything we have mentioned is applicable for Windows 7, with small variations that must be applied if you are going to use Windows 8 or its higher versions. They will not ask you for a CD-ROM drive but rather, un USB pendrive to be used as the “recovery media” of the System.
