Turning to a third-party application to install on Windows 8
To give you an idea of what we are going to suggest in this article, we could recommend that you open several tabs in the Google Chrome browser; if you have about 10 navigation tab, By simply selecting the "x" of the window, each and every one of them will be closed without prior notice, something that, on the other hand, does not happen in Mozilla Firefox where a notification window appears telling us that we are about to close a whole series of tabs. All you need to do is download to Close All tool from your link to install it on Windows 8; So that you can test its effectiveness, we recommend that you run a few applications that may well be the Internet browser, paint, the Windows Media Player among a few others, and you may even have a few browser windows open. files.
Now all you have to do is execute Close All using its icon created on the Windows 8 Desktop; A screen very similar to the one we have placed previously is what you are probably going to notice, where all those applications (and directories) that you have open at that moment are present.
The only thing you have to do is select all these applications and tools using their respective boxes, and then click OK so that all of them are closed in a single action; If you only want to close some of them you will have to perform a selective activation of each of its boxes and later, having to click on the same button that we mentioned above.
Now, double-clicking on the Close All shortcut is not a great time saver since we may need to minimize all the windows to be able to find said icon, double-click it and then, close all those applications in a single act; For this reason, it is advisable to try to use a keyboard shortcut that calls the application, something you can do as follows:
- You have to go to the Windows 8 desktop.
- Locate the shortcut Close All and click with the right mouse button.
- From the context menu options choose Properties.
- Go to the box that says Direct Access (Shortcut).
- Find the option that will allow you to define a key for the Direct access.
- Make the key combination that is your preference.
- Open the window by clicking OK.
Having performed this action, you will no longer need to double click on the tool that we have installed in Windows 8 but rather, use the keyboard shortcut that we have programmed above, with which the Close All interface will appear so that we can define what we want to close.
