Gaze: Entertaining way to watch the same video from distant places

Last update: April 14, 2020

Gaze 01
Previously we had suggested the use of an interesting tool that helped us enjoy movies hosted on a computer, but from different mobile devices, all in the style of a "streaming transmission" and without having to leave home; Now we will mention another tool, which has the name Gaze and that will help us review streaming material but from different places.
This means that if at a certain time we have a video hosted on our computer or we have simply seen one on YouTube that may be of interest to many, with a small trick supported by Gaze we can make all our friends see what we are seeing at that moment. We will be a kind of administrator of these videos, since we are the only ones who will have the possibility of placing a pause among a few other alternatives.

Initial steps to use Gaze with our Internet browser

As you may have guessed, Gaze is a web application that helps us carry out this streaming as we have suggested. There are a few conditions of use that we must mention at this time, all to avoid having to fail in the attempt. The first thing we are going to comment on is the compatibility that Gaze has with different Internet browsers. In the first instance, this web application adapts perfectly well with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, situation that is not the same if we use Internet Explorer, Well, in this latest Internet browser a message will appear that sharing videos via streaming (under the system proposed by Gaze) is not possible.
For this reason, we must take into account that Internet Explorer will not offer us good results when trying to share a video via streaming with a different number of friends.
After we head towards Gaze's official website and using the browser that we have (as long as it is compatible), a first window will appear, something that we show you as a screenshot below.

There are three very important fields to take into account, these being:

  1. Invite our friends with Facebook.
  2. Invite our friends via email.
  3. The embed code to share the videos.

Actually, This code is the trick to everything, since we will have to copy and paste it to send it by means of a message to our friends, regardless of whether they are on Facebook, Twitter or without any of these social networks, because if said code is sent to them by email email, they would have to copy and paste it into their respective Internet browser.

How Gaze works when sharing video playback

That is the most interesting part of all, sinceand only those people who have this code facilitated by Gaze you will have the possibility to see the video exactly as we show it. It would be a good idea to have in the message we send to our friends that the start time of the video will be at a specific time, so that no one misses the streaming broadcast that we are about to promote.
When the hour has approached, we should only paste the code in our internet browser, which will show two different options to choose from:

  1. Playing a YouTube video.
  2. Playing some video on our local hard drive.

If you are going to choose the first option, there you would have to copy and paste the URL address of the YouTube video that you want to share with your friends; We have tried the second option and it offers some problems when playing the video hosted on the computer.
When everyone has synchronized with the code and in their respective Internet browsers, a "play" button will appear in the middle, which the administrator has to press for it to video playback starts at that same moment. From here the administrator will have the possibility of pausing, chatting with friends, among a few other alternatives.
