Alternatives to place 2 or more different subtitles in the same video

Last update: April 20, 2020

place several subtitles in a video
Older DVD discs were able to offer their users more than one different language to select from the menu. The new videos that we could be saving on the personal computer have a special format (mainly those of the MKV type) that allows their users to choose between one or more audio channels and also subtitles.
Now, if you have a conventional video and in it you want integrate two or more subtitles different, we will mention a small trick that you can execute, only with any of the two online tools that we will mention below.

Basic concepts before starting

What we mentioned in the first paragraph refers primarily to the possibility of choosing between any of the subtitles that are part of the structure of these videos. If we have a DVD disc, we will have to carry out this task with the remote control, while in MKV files this selection could be carried out with the right mouse button.
The alternatives that we will mention below act in a very different way, since the subtitles that we integrate will all appear together. This means that if you have the text in English, French and Spanish, each and every one of them will appear simultaneously although, with a small differentiation so that the viewer identifies them in the first instance. Primarily, these tricks work with the SRT format, which is one of those that offers the greatest compatibility with different video players.

1. SRT Fusion

The first online tool that we will mention is called "SRT Fusion", which you can access for free and without having to open any type of account. The interface is quite complete but simple at the same time. We show you some of this in the screenshot that we will place at the bottom.

As you can see, there are the respective fields so you can start adding the files you have with the subtitles. This means that you must have previously obtained these documents in the SRT format, to which you must initially add with the "Choose File" button. A little further down there is an option that will help you in coding, you must choose UTF-8 type if you are not sure about the correct option to select; The most interesting part of all is a little further down, because here there is an additional button (Add File) that you will have to select to add a new subtitle. All of this that we have mentioned is the first part of the tool, and you must continue with the suggested steps shown a little below.
SRT Fusion 02
The file you end up with will be the fusion of all the titles that have come to matter through each of the functions of this online tool. Below we will post a screenshot of what you could be seeing as the final result, with a video that has more than two subtitles.

Right there you can see that each of the subtitles are fully identified by their color.

Another excellent alternative comes from the hand of this online tool, which basically has the same principle as the previous option, although with a small difference that is worth taking into account.
2SRT2ASS 01
In the interface you can choose only two subtitles in SRT format to import into this online tool, and you must subsequently define the size, font and color for each of these subtitles. The difference is marked in the position that they will adopt as a final result.

At the top we have placed a small capture and where you can easily see that one of the subtitles is located at the bottom while the other on top. This could be an excellent alternative if we are going to try to identify a video in two different languages, since users will have the ability to read the one they identify with, which could be located above or below depending on what you have previously configured .
